About Dr. Mathews

Dr. Sarah B. Mathews is an ABPN board-certified, licensed adult and geriatric psychiatrist specializing in women’s health. She currently serves as a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania and has provided over 9 years of clinical and teaching service at the university. She has received many awards for her outstanding teaching in women’s health, geriatric psychiatry and anxiety disorders. She has also served as clinical medical director of the Penn Center for Women’s Behavioral Wellness in Philadelphia, where she has been involved in clinical care, education and exciting research at the forefront in this field.

Dr. Mathews began her path towards psychiatry during her undergraduate studies at the College of William and Mary while studying Biological Psychology. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree, she then attended Rutgers - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, graduating with the Gold Humanism Award and induction to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Mathews then completed her residency in Adult Psychiatry and fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania.

Now, her private practice serving southern New Jersey is open! In her practice, she will continue to provide expert clinical care for women throughout the lifecycle.
